Victory Bell (Annex Bell) outside the second campus club house, ca. 1955. The Victory Bell was used to celebrate sports victories and other occasions. This is probably the second of three victory bells belonging to the college. According to Abbott Fay's "Mountain Academia", the first bell was given to WSC by the town of Gunnison but was melted down in a World War II scrap drive. View of the second campus club house from the south, ca. 1960, based on the mature foliage. The sign in front reads "Library Annex"; the building was also used by the Music department (1956 Curecanti) and the Sciences department after the new Student Union was built in 1955. The club house was moved to southwest Gunnison in 1962 where it still stands today.
