F. George Damson (front row center, white shoes) poses with one of the early Western State College Music Camp orchestras on the lawn in front of Taylor Hall, ca. late 1930s. Damson founded the camp in 1934; it became WSC's great claim-to-fame in the next thirty years, attracting student musicians and famous conductors from around the country.

The 1937 WSC Music Camp "B" Orchestra was made up of young and older players. The group and three leaders pose for a photograph on the west steps of Taylor Hall. Note the instructors and a few of the students wear a ribbon on their shirts, possibly to note their participation.
