"After the abandonment of the Pioneer Cottonwood school in 1911, another schoolhouse of log construction was built on Antelope Creek a mile or so west of Cottonwood. Ed Robinson donated the land and Arthur Panting, Phil Maxwell and Perry Ault donated the labor with an assist from Tom Wohler. Saint Marys Catholic Church in Eagle, Colorado, circa 1980. The church was originally the Eagle School at 215 Capitol St. Built in 1890, it was used as a school until 1916 when it was sold to the Catholic Church.

The Derby Mesa Schoolhouse, Burns, Colorado, in 1980, being used as a private residence. The front of the school has had an addition at the front door with a roof overhang. The house number reads 13060. Gaylord Clark taught in this school from 1933-1935.

16) Nottingham Barn

Old barn just west of the Emmett Nottingham place. The barn was probably built by Clyde Nottingham around 1908. Beaver Creek is to the left. The old Avon School is just right of center. The first Avon bridge is visible in the foreground in front of the school (west of current bridges about 100 yards and lower to the water). The Joe Smith house is to the right.
