42) Waldo's Ranch

"M. H. [Martin H.] and Clara Waldo came to Brush Creek around 1902 and ranched across the creek from the Shryacks until 1917, when they retired in California. Tom Carlin bought the ranch, and subsequent owners were Hans and Thelma Larsen and Glenn and Denzel Norman." -- [History of Brush Creek p.26]
The Waldo's had one daughter who married Ralph Wolverton. This couple had a son, Charles Wolverton.

The Derby Mesa Schoolhouse, Burns, Colorado, in 1980, being used as a private residence. The front of the school has had an addition at the front door with a roof overhang. The house number reads 13060. Gaylord Clark taught in this school from 1933-1935.

"Thomas Knight was born near French Lick, Ind. May 28, 1886 and completed his education at Central Normal College, Ill. He first came to Colorado with his parents and brother, Robert in 1908. ... He first came to Eagle County in 1929 from Canon City and went to work for the Empire Zinc...until his retirement in 1949." --Eagle Valley Enterprise Aug. 11, 1960

Post office at Tigiwon, Colorado. Located on the way to Notch Mountain trail, it was used to postmark letters for people on pilgrimage to view the Mt. of the Holy Cross. The Post office was established June 5, 1929 and discontinued September 30, 1942 [from Colorado Post Offices 1859-1989, by Bauer, Osment and Willard, 1990].
There are several people standing next to an automobile and a camper with bedroll standing in front of the log building.

LaGrow home, builit on East Cooley Mesa near Gypsum, in 1900. The LaGrow family moved to Gypsum in the 1970s.
