Front of Eagle County High School from outside the front gate. The sidewalk ends at the gate and the road is unpaved. There is a gate through which wagon tracks are clearly visible next to the pedestrian gate. The brick building is two story with two chimneys and a bell tower. William Lupton was a soldier in the Union Army and a marshall in Cripple Creek, Colorado. While living in Gypsum, he was a special officer for the Rio Grande Railroad, stationed at Minturn. He was the grandfather of Betty and Wyon Bonar and Eldon Wilson.

Arthur "Art" Stremme stands near a fence in Gypsum. Stremme was a member of the first graduating class of the Eagle County High School. His father, Theodore Stremme, owned the Stremme Store and served as the postmaster for Gypsum from 1905 to 1935.
