Mrs. Merrill [Elnora Green Merrill] walking away from the camera at Wolcott, crossing the railroad tracks. The sign on the building at left says "Saloon." Charles Merrill, Elnora's husband, owned the Wolcott Mercantile company store.

Laura Hyde Livingston, wearing riding clothes and hat, standing next to saddled horse. Mrs. Livingston was a teacher at Edwards School.
Laura was the mother of Bob Livingston (July 11, 1895--Jan. 28, 1983). She is related to the Hyde family (Ardith Hyde Calhoun) of Eagle County.

Guests from Leadville tent camping at the Brett Ranch circa 1900. The tent is constructed on a 2 x 4 frame. Through the open door, visitors are seated at a table playing cards. A dead marmot is hanging from the screen door latch.

c.1932: W. H. "Dad" Wellington shown in mail wagon, with his donkey, "Jack" standing next to the railroad crossing sign at Edwards. Lettuce shed is on the far left, with stacks of crates. Wellington hauled mail from the railroad to the Edwards Post Office twice a day for over 42 yrs.
"He has driven this route, carrying the mail for forty-four years, since May 13, 1895, without missing a single trip. He makes three each day. He calls his mule...

In the Eagle County Blade [Mar. 13, 1902], there was an obituary for Emma Metcalf, "...aged about 15 years, the second daughter of Mrs. Lizzie Metcalf, of Edwards...." Burial was in the Edwards cemetery. "The deceased was a granddaughter of Mr. John W. Love of Eagle."
