The corner of the building on the left is the old City Hall and Library(located at 3400 S. Elati). This building has also been demolished. In 2004 a new building was put up in its place.

This photo shows the planting of the first trees, as well as the construction of some of the tent cottages at Swedish Hospital. Seated on the wagon seat, holding the horse reins is Charles John Sandell. His son, Erwin Charles Sandell, then about 12 yrs. old, is seated on the edge of the wagon at the back wheel. Dr. Charles A Bundsen, founder of Swedish Hospital, is wearing the white scarf and is seated on the ground second from the left.
