"M. H. [Martin H.] and Clara Waldo came to Brush Creek around 1902 and ranched across the creek from the Shryacks until 1917, when they retired in California. Tom Carlin bought the ranch, and subsequent owners were Hans and Thelma Larsen and Glenn and Denzel Norman." -- [History of Brush Creek p.26]
The Waldo's had one daughter who married Ralph Wolverton. This couple had a son, Charles Wolverton.

4) Dice Place

The old Dice place up west Brush Creek. Barn, house and outbuildings are visible from the road through the fenceline. Road is not paved.

Joe Dice on Sally, the mare, at the Half-Way barn up Brush Creek. Rex, the dog, is visible under the horse's belly. Joe, ten years old, rode past the barn on his way to school.
The Half-Way barn (at the entrance now in 2007 to Sylvan Park) was a stage stop for the Eagle to Fulford stage line. The barn was long with plenty of room and freight wagons could be parked. The teamsters switched horses here and, if necessary, could sleep in the hay.

An unidentified man is leveling field previously plowed, probably disced and/or harrowed. Level or "drag" on which he is standing carries a small amount of soil with it that is shaved off the high places, and then if leaks out underneath into the low places to create a uniform (or level) slope so that irrigation water flows uniformly. 8) Sneve Ranch

The William Johnson Ranch, formerly the Anthony Sneve Ranch on West Brush Creek. The patent on the ranch was established in 1911. The ranch was purchased by Edna Chambers in 1935. Chambers in turn sold the property to William S. and Nora Johnson in 1938. It is now the site for Sylvan Lake State Park. [A History of Sylvan Lake State Park, by Kathy Heicher]

10) Working cows

Mary Jo & Bobby Trezise can be seen standing in the cattle shoot near the center of the photo. To their left, is a car garaged in the barn and to the far right, a man can be seen. There are tractors and other farm equipment in the barns.

Hans Larsen stands with the family dog, Jack, with a gun and a pipe in his mouth. Larsen fashioned his own belt for carrying ducks while hunting and has 8 around his waist. There is a milk can in the background with the fenceline and a building.

Hans Larsen, along with two other men and a dog, appear to be chopping a tree in the barnyard. There is a fence, trees, and numerous buildings also in the picture.
