"This bunkhouse is all that remains of a good set of ranch buildings that were on the Dave Bailey place at the mouth of Yarmony Creek. The two story log house that Dave and his wife Molly lived in for over twenty years and Tony and Rebecca Johannbroer occupied for another twenty was destroyed by fire about 1937. -- McCoy Memoirs p.134 [Title supplied from catalog prepared by the Eagle County Historical Society.]

Alfred Benson’s property on Shrine Pass FSR (Forest Service Road) 709. Originally, there were several cabins (log and board), a blacksmith shop and a barn at the site. This was not Benson's main cabin or barn. The main cabin interior walls had been smoothed with an adz or a broad-axe and these are not smooth. The structure is too small to be the barn. This photo was taken on July 26, 2012.

"I think it would be best to label this as 'homestead on Hernage Creek' rather than 'Hernage Homestead.' Location: T5S R84W Sec. 21, NW1/4 SW1/4 A patent search indicated the earliest record on this property is a homestead claim by Issac Kalbaugh on 160 acres in 1912. However,...
