When Hunt was young, he uncovered a box tucked away with letters and documents. As it turned out, the papers belonged to a man named John Jacob Happel and Hunt was the only one to know that the papers were there.

In 1951, a commemorative envelope and stamp were issued through the Minturn, Colorado post office celebrating the 75th anniversary of Colorado. The stamp prominently features Mount of the Holy Cross, a national historic site at the time. This envelope is unused and was saved for posterity.

A letter written by Chester Duncan to his mother, Belle Duncan, and his sisters. Dolly Esther (Duncan) Webb was one of Chester's sisters. The letter is dated June 18, 1915, from Broad Pass, Alaska. Chester requested that mail be delivered to a C.R. Breck of Ship Creek, Alaska, located near where Anchorage is today.

A homework and ledger book belonging to Dolly Duncan. The first part of the book includes notes for a German class Dolly took in high school. The second part includes a ledger of expenses from 1906. Expenses are recorded for Dolly, in addition to J. D. Morgan, A. O. Steele, D. Hammond, James T. Wood, Bell Brothers, Sherman, French & Co., and Miller & Beach. A picture of a flower was found in the book, and was drawn by Dolly's son, Robert.
