"The first cabin built in Red Cliff by Wm. Greiner and G. J. DaLee in 1879. This cabin is still standing and occupied by Jack Elliott." -- History of Eagle County, 1940, p.12
When compared to 2009.005.001, this does appear to be the Greiner/Elliott cabin.

The Red Cliff school house used prior to 1937. It later became the lodge for the Kinnikinick Circle No. 453 for the Women of Woodcraft [403 Pine St.], which was chartered on March 1, 1902.

Shared marker for: "Hayes, Lula M., 1916- and Jack G., 1914-1983," Greenwood Cemetery. A mountain scene is engraved on the marker with pines, a riderless horse, an eagle, clouds and snow.
46) Ice Train Wreck

Ice train wreck in Red Cliff. Ice was being transported from Pando to the ice houses in Minturn, Colorado, to be used in refrigerator cars. The brakes on the train froze and the train wrecked in the Red Cliff city limits. Several men are examining the wreckage.
The accident occurred December 31, 1927.

The Fitzgerald house in Red Cliff, built in 1938 by Joel James Fitzgerald II and his wife, Loryne, a school teacher. The log house in the distance is no longer habitable.

Joel James Fitzgerald III, standing on a framer's pole at Warren's mill, near Cole Creek, up Shrine Pass, Forest Service Rd. no. 709. The kiln in the background was used to make charcoal for the smelters in Leadville.
Joel was the son of Loryne Fitzgerald, a teacher at Red Cliff Union High School. They lived next door to the Beck family in Red Cliff.
