He stayed in and around Leadville for some time and then went to Cattle creek in Garfield county where he spent the winter. The Schumm ranch was bought by Frank [H. F.] Doll. It included the current Stephens nursery, house, barns, Two Rivers development, the B & B Gravel Pit [upper hay fields] and up Onion Ridge [cow camp].
