This plaque is at the Mount of the Holy Cross Overlook, also known as Julia's Deck, on the Shrine Pass Trail. Mount of the Holy Cross Overlook, also known as Julia's Deck, on the Shrine Pass Road [FSR 709], a maintained dirt road, connects Vail and Red Cliff. The overlook was built as handicapped access to the overlook by volunteers representing PAWS, an organization providing recreational facilities for handicapped people. An unidentified couple is sitting on Lover's Leap (Battle Mountain) with Red Cliff behind them. Starting at the distant hillside behind the couple, we see Vic Dump Woods. Vic Dump had the contract from the Forest Service to cut timber on that hillside. The white "line" on the hillside, is the skid trail.
