"Madison Cassius Gates, born in 1852, like his older brothers Albert and James P., also had a desire for adventure. He migrated [from Ohio] westward to Hebron, Nebraska, around 1881, and later moved to California.

A photo montage of Vic and Zella Lindersmith in celebration of their 34th wedding anniversary. They were married on May 28, 1939. "Lindersmith lived in Hotchkiss for 35 years, where he worked as a fruit rancher and a carpenter. Maloit Family home in Gilman, Colorado, taken in 1989, eight years after the town was closed. The house has ice flashing and a shingle roof, replacing the tar paper of the 1930s. Previously a 15-ft. high metal smoke stack sat on top of the chimney to improve draft for the kitchen range and space heater. Asbestos siding takes the place of tongue and groove siding.

97) Theisen women

The Theisens: Emma, Juanita, Mrs. Mary Theisen, and Marie. Martin and Mary Theisen were married in Denver in 1891. Juanita was born in 1895; Emma in 1897 and Marie in 1902. In 1904, they moved to Routt County and in 1905 they established their own ranch on Congor Mesa.
This photo is labeled 1908 but, from the appearance of the girls, it may have been later. --McCoy Memoirs, p.252
