"The McCoy Hotel as it appeared when Charles H. 'Daddy' McCoy was operating it in 1904. The photo was taken looking south west. The east end of the building was the kitchen and dining room, the lobby, Post Office and the McCoys living quarters in the center while the west end was mostly guest rooms and a large hall for community gatherings, dances, etc. In later years the ground floor was converted into a store. "Uncle Jake Borah's camp site in Colorado near Sweetwater Lake". Two tents are visible for the camp with several men and horses (plus one pack mule) surrounding the area. A spit in the center holds what appears to be a bear strung up by his feet with other small animals attached. A smattering of snow remains on the small ridge behind the camp. Jake Borah is possibly the second man from right in a wide-brim hat.
