Frank Maloit's 1930 Hupmobile during spring mud season. The road from Red Cliff to Leadville wasn't paved until the mid-1930s. [The Hupmobile was produced from 1909-1940 by the Hupp Motor Company in Detroit.--Wikipedia] Over the left rear of the Hupmobile is the roof of the old Powder House. Beyond that is the Mine Warehouse where Jim Walsh was storekeeper. Beyond that is the head frame for the mine hoist.

The Odd Fellows Hall building taken from the yard of the Poor Farm in Gypsum. The Lutheran Church is at the right of the Hall. The cupola on the original building has been removed, a chimney and additional door appear as well (comparing this photo to 2011.006.001). The building has been remodeled to suit the purposes for which it was being used.

Ralph and Pearl Lewis Henderson standing in front of an automobile with their dog; August 1969. Pearl worked in the Henderson store and at the Red Cliff Museum. She was a member of the Eagle County Historical Society and Neighbors of Woodcraft. Ralph Henderson owned Henderson's Variety Store in Red Cliff and sold cars in Red Cliff for Burt Chevrolet, Denver. Ralph also owned the bus line to Gilman, which took workers back and forth to the mine....
