Frances Noel house at 1620 Copper Spur Rd., built in 1904. There is a porch on the front and additional structures on the back of the house. A stove is sitting in the yard.

The house was built in 1880-90's. It was moved from Keystone mines near Oak Creek in 1944 to the Leonard Horn Ranch. The house was sawed in half to get accross the frozen Colorado River at State Bridge in order to make the move. There is a barbed wire fence in the foreground and a rug airing on the porch rail.
23) Welch Place

Welch place on LaGrow Rd., Gypsum, built in 1893. The logs for construction came from Hardscrabble Mountain. The house was moved to Carbondale.

The original warming cabin across from the Whittaker Ranch ski tow. Mary Ann and Joe Carter used it as a summer home for three years before the ranch sold. They are sitting on the porch of the cabin in this photo.

"Kate Flynn Gill and Hazel Tracy Hawkins. Blanche [Tracy Kyes] said this picture was most likely taken at Paul and Hazel's house in Rifle. Paul was from Rifle and worked for the State Highway Department. Paul and Hazel met when Paul was working on the highway near Gypsum. Later Paul and Hazel moved to San Diego and Paul worked at Camp Pendleton. Kate and Hazel used to visit back and forth often. My Dad enjoyed the comics and from the picture...

32) Doll cabin

The log cabin built by Frank and Lucy Doll in Dotsero and which was moved to Gypsum around 1890. Most likely Lucy and Frank on the porch with large crate and antlers.
33) Hodari Place

Hodari place on Highway 6 in Gypsum, built in 1897. Caption on verso: "Burned Mulligan." A lawnmower rests in the yard.

Nogal's Hotel, built in 1892, later purchased by the O. A. Ping family in 1923. It stands at the corner of Hwy 24 and Capitol Streets. It was the town's first permanent hotel, boasting 13 rooms (8 bedrooms). The fellow sitting in the upstairs window, right side, is C.F. (Charley) Nogal. The woman on the porch below in the black dress, holding the baby, is Charley's wife, Rosetta.

"Ted and Nina Harris and six of their children at their Antelope Creek ranch in 1923. From left to right, they are: Hugh, Lucille, Neal, Nina and Ted. On the ground in front: Helen, Enid and Edwin." -- McCoy Memoirs p.172
"Mr. and Mrs. Harris lived on the ranch 28 years, then after several of the children were married they moved to Fruita, Colorado. Mrs. Harris died there in 1952 and Ted three years later. They are both interred in the Fruita Cemetery."...
