The newly completed Health and Physical Education Department building, later called Mountaineer Gymnasium, and finally officially named Wright Gymnasium in 1975 after Paul "Frosty" Wright, director of the department from 1935 to 1963. Wright was WSC's football coach, and was famous for having established a collegiate skiing program and fostering the popularity of wrestling in Colorado.
